From our first inquiry when we began our search for a trustworthy CKC recognized breeder, Holly was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.  Prior to making a commitment, Holly was open to us visiting her home to see where the puppies were bred and how they were being raised.  It was easy to see the dogs were raised in a loving and caring home environment providing them with a stable and well-adjusted foundation.  It was a relaxed visit with plenty of time for Holly to answer all our questions.  Pepper has adapted well to our home and our lifestyle.  She is a spunky and smart little girl with a sociable personality who is thriving in her new environment.  We would not hesitate to recommend Holly and Eenie Weeines as an excellent option for someone looking for a miniature dachshund.

My love for dachshunds runs deep. My grandparents had doxies, my parents had one when I was growing up, and I became a doxie mom to my own two dachshunds when I was 29 years old – followed two years later by my third doxie. We were a close-knit pack, so I was devastated to lose all three of them over an eight month period in 2021 (to cancer, canine dementia and kidney disease). Our house was far too quiet, so I reached out to a few dachshund breeders recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club. Holly from Eenie Weenies responded to my email and we quickly developed a great email relationship over our shared love of the ‘long dog’.

I was thrilled when the first litter of Eenie Weenies was born – exactly five weeks after my youngest daughter arrived. Holly regularly sent photos of the growing litter and we emailed often. I was so impressed with Holly’s research and her natural and thoughtful approach to caring for her dogs and raising the dachshund puppies. We went to visit Holly so we could select our boy – who would become known as Otis. You could tell the puppies were being raised in a warm, loving environment. When we brought Otis home a few weeks later, his lovely temperament made for an easy adjustment to our household and routines. We’re so excited that he and our girls will ‘grow up’ together. He’s gentle and loving with the kids, loves his toys, and endlessly chases the birds in our yard. He also loves a good cuddle at the end of the day and sleeping between Mom and Dad’s pillow every night.

I would highly recommend Eenie Weenies. Holly has been a great resource to me as I adjust to life with a puppy and I’m so thrilled to have the delightful antics of a dachshund in our home again. Otis has quickly become a dearly loved member of our family.
